Girl/Gamer

812 North is looking for women gamers for a feature-length documentary

We are looking to follow several women involved in role-playing games, table-top and live-action.

The documentary will explore the female experience in gaming. We’ll be looking at the challenges women face, the media perception of gaming as a “boys club” and how women experience role-playing games in their own unique way.

We’re looking for women of all ages (18 and over) and backgrounds in the Chicagoland area who would be interested in being interviewed for this project. From college students to gaming moms to senior citizens, we’re looking for a representation as diverse as gaming itself.

In addition, we’re looking for a few women to film at gaming events and to follow up on over a few months to get a sense of their gaming experience.

We’re also looking for gaming established groups (LARPS, Table-Top Clubs, Miniature Gamers) with female members who would be open to allowing us to shoot at their events and interview their members.

We have two short docs already shot and are looking to begin shooting the feature this autumn.
